Zeptoverse — Mummy Aa Rahi Hai

An unsolicited spec film for Zepto. Mummy is ten minutes from her own surprise birthday party, and nothing is ready. A multiverse of delivery riders (anime, brick, clay and animated-feature) fetches it all. Written in Hindi, made entirely from AI-generated characters, from first frame to final cut in eight days.

कKaaran

Quick-commerce sells one promise, speed, and speed ads all look alike. So the idea takes “10 minutes” literally: one family, one surprise party, and every universe's rider pulled in to make the deadline.

खKhaaka

A 48-second Hindi film with English subtitles. A live-action family in a cinematic Mumbai night, four animated universes each with its own look, a tracked phone-screen shot, and a post-credit tease. Delivered in 16:9, 9:16 and 4:5.

गGoonj

Spec work, so there are no campaign results to report. The proof is the build: concept to final cut in eight days, one hero film in three sizes.

The idea

11:50 PM. Mummy is ten minutes away from her own surprise birthday party, and Rohan, the one in charge, has done nothing. So he orders on Zepto, and the film does what no delivery ad does: it follows the order into a multiverse.

Candles, balloons, cake and Mummy's favourite lipstick shade are fetched by the same Zepto rider in four different universes: anime, brick, clay and animated-feature. All four arrive with 2 minutes 10 seconds to spare. The twist stays small and human: his sister Didi suspects. “You used Zepto, didn't you?” “Arre, eat your cake, Didi. Forget all this Zepto-shmepto.”

After the end card, a post-credit scene cuts back to the dark store, and a closing title card promises Season 2.

This is an unsolicited spec film made by KaKhaGa. It was not commissioned by, and is not affiliated with, Zepto.

The cast

Rohan
24, messy hair, grey hoodie. Likeable and prone to panic: the one who forgot.
Didi
28, his elder sister. Sharp eyes, kurta with a denim jacket. Smart and smug.
Mummy
55, warm round face, a silver streak in her hair. Sweet but sharp.
The Commander
55, salt-and-pepper beard, a scar through one eyebrow, comms headset. Dead serious.
The Operator
30, headset, purple-lit face, mostly seen from behind.
Zepto Man
The rider: purple helmet, visor always down. One uniform, reinterpreted in every universe.

Every character is an original AI creation. None is based on a real person.

The look

The live-action world is built from still frames in a neutral cinematic grade, with real skin texture and no neon or purple wash, so the family feels like people you know. Early frames made in ChatGPT were rejected as looking too much like ChatGPT, so it was kept for the stylised universes only.

Each universe has its own medium and its own HUD tag on screen (Anime-verse, Brick-verse, Clay-verse, Toon-verse), with a live countdown running through the montage. The same rider, the same uniform, four different worlds.

How it was made

  1. Script. Hindi and Hinglish, four versions in three days. The brief to ourselves: quick beats, whispered and fast lines, no exposition.
  2. Cast. Every character was designed as a portrait first and locked, so faces stay consistent from shot to shot.
  3. Frames. Seedream 5.0 Pro stills for every live-action shot; ChatGPT for the stylised universes.
  4. Motion. Kling 3.0 at 1080p for the plates and the phone shot; Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 for dialogue clips with native Hindi audio and for the four universe sequences.
  5. Phone screen. The over-the-shoulder thumb tap was filmed as an AI plate, then the real app screen was tracked and composited onto the phone by a custom tracking tool, so it sits correctly on the AI-generated device.
  6. Motion graphics. HUD, countdown, universe tags, titles and end card are HTML and GSAP rendered through headless Chrome.
  7. Sound. The score and 15 bespoke sound effects were made with ElevenLabs.
  8. Versions. Six cuts in eight days (v1 on 26 Sep, final on 2 Oct), delivered in 16:9, 9:16 and 4:5 with English subtitles, plus LinkedIn thumbnails.
